Divorce is never easy, but for the rich & famous, it can get downright ugly, having all of their personal and financial details displayed for the world to read about.
John Cleese, the comedian who rose to fame with the Monty Python troupe, is the latest to have the details of his divorce made available to the public.
According to a news outlet in Brittain, he will fork over almost 20 million in his divorce settlement, making his third wife richer than the actor himself. Cleese is rumored tohave around $16 million left. Cleese will also have to pay her more than $900,000 a year for the next seven years, the papers reported. The actor married Eichelberg, in 1992.
“Because of the Internet and social media more and more high-profile divorce cases are getting played out in the media,” said Laura Wasser, a Los Angeles-based divorce lawyer who has represented many celebrities. “It's not necessarily a good thing for the litigants or judicial officers.
